.. a semester later.

i know its been a LONG time since i've even logged on here! school is keeping me very busy!! my last week is next week, and then its finals! After that is a LOT of exciting stuff, and some not-so exciting stuff.

after my very last final of the semester i get to move to my OWN place, which i'm totally excited about!! New furniture, a bed that hasnt been used by college kids for the last 13 years (i'm serious, thats how old these beds are..), no nasty roommate. I'm also excited to hang up my Dark Knight (the new batman movie) poster, which has the late Heath Ledger on it as the Joker. I just so happened to order this poster the day he died, within hours it went to 50$, and it is a AMAZING poster. Then its my birthday, the big 2-1! Then the red sox game, in which i can flash my newly legal i.d. and have a beer!

In July The Dark Knight comes out!! This movie is going to be so awesome, and the way they're advertising it (via the internet, its this whole viral campaign thing..), just makes the anticipation worse. Me and my friend are gonna try and go to the midnight showing of it, and have a batman marathon prior to it! I finally found someone as nerdy as me who can sit through them all! I made her a batman cake for her birthday! The coolest cake I ever made..

But before all that fun stuff, i still have 4 tests, a project, and a paper to write. Although my project is stressful, I'm having fun with it. For my lab class we got to pick a project (with the professors approval of course) to make and present to the class. My group is making a effects pedal for a guitar. In laymens terms, a pedal that can switch the guitar from the clean sound to the sound you hear in pretty much all rock songs (think AC/DC...). Its been a pain (moreso getting my partner to cooperate..), but when we finally got to hear it, it was so cool. Which brings me to my updated amazon wishlist if you need any ideas for a certain date coming up in a little over a month :p

Unfortunately I have been forced to take summer school. I was planning on having summer off to just work and rest my brain, but the school felt differently. They scheduled 3 classes I need to take all at the exact same time for the fall. Due to pre-reqs i HAD to sign up for summer school otherwise I wouldnt be able to have a full time schedule for the fall and the rest of my semesters would end up screwed up and most likely delay my graduation :s . But its only 1 class, my advisor was trying to make me do 2, but I opted not to. The way I have it now is that next summer I'll be off, and in the fall (my last semester!!) i'll just be taking 9 hours, so I'll have more time to concentrate on my sr. design project. Plus I'll have all summer to work on my sr. design project as well.

Oh yea, heres the BIG bummer, school starts on my birthday!! It couldn't have happened on any other birthday, but THIS one! From what I hear this is somewhat of a important one! Plus my class is at night, who wants to spend the night of their 21st sitting in a classroom...

keep your fingers crossed

in the next few weeks they'll be starting the process of randomly selecting people for the Red Sox game. Hopefully someone I recruited gets picked so we have a chance. If not, Texas is coming the 24-26, but those are one weekdays, then the Cardinals 6-8. As long as its after my birthday, just so I can flash my ID and get a drink :p

Speaking of drinks...
I submitted my resume through the job bank for a internship at Anheuser-Busch. No, no need to do a double take, breweries need engineers too. If my resume gets picked then they're coming on campus to conduct interviews at the end of February. But I'm going to go in this week or next to talk to the career advisor to go over my resume and cover letter.

Next week some 'stros are coming to San Antonio, but of course I get jipped out of seeing Bagwell AGAIN (if you don't remember, back when he was doing his rehab stint for the hooks, I was carless.... the one week out of 52 that my car isn't functional). Even if it were for a split second for a autograph, coach or player, it's still Bagwell and it would make my year. Carlos Lee, Oscar Villarrel, and the manager Cooper are the 'stros that are gonna be there, along with a broadcaster. Everywhere else got Backe, Bagwell, Sampson, Oswalt, and College STation got Berkman as it does every year it seems.

It seems like it's never in the cards for me to meet my hero :( .

to be continued...

i am moving my blog elsewhere. somewhere where i have more control, so I'm pretty much building my own site to blog and share pictures. I'm still working on it though. i could make it simple and do a pre-made layout, but that would be very unlike me now wouldn't it. As of now i will be typing my blogs into the one on my computer and uploading them all at a later time. I will share the link as soon as i get it. the site is functional, but not very pretty, so I'm going to beautify it before I can let others see.

pretty much nothing but school has been going on with me. i saw 'cloverfield' and i found it hilarious, while everyone else seemed scared. i went to work orientation, and lets just say guests wont have a hard time spotting us. but I'm starting to realize that the likelihood of a social life this semester will be slim.

End of one year, beginning of another

So I spent the end of this year at home, and I think I was there too long, but I did enjoy the relaxation. A much different atmosphere than in San Antonio.

Christmas was good. I got a bunch of neat books that will probably take me forever to read, all music related of course. There will be more on those as I get the opportunity to read them.

One thing I love about Christmas, is wrapping gifts. I get bored with wrapping gifts, so I try to make it as hard as physically possible to open at least one gift. I had some victims, I got some revenge, and I even drew some blood (sorry!). It was amusing, but I think next year I'm going to do something different. I'm not going to reveal this, so you'll just have to wait! But if anyone wasn't as thrilled with the challenge I presented with the opening of the presents, I want to let you know that Stephanie wrapped my gift in duct tape, and I had my own challenge. She even made the comment of how easy my present was to open (but she also said it was pretty...), I take that as a challenge for next year (Robin said the same thing last year, and look what happened to her!).

What I bought as a gag gift for white elephant ended up as a vicious battle for a talking, farting santa. Well, not totally vicious, but vicious for our white elephant. I still think next year there should be a nerf war or something in the 3rd round.

All the pictures from Christmas are on my photobucket account.

its christmas time... almost...

so i've been finding it hard to get into the christmas spirit with finals coming up soon, but I think work helped a bit. Lets face it, Christmas and candy go hand and hand, and working in one with a huge christmas tree out front, its kind of hard to not get into the spirit somewhat (plus 7 hours of christmas music does it to you as well).

I've been playing with my camera and learning more about it. I have some pictures I'll post. Speaking of pictures, all the picturese from the Astros game are on my photobucket (the link is in the links section on this page). The photoblog from it is taking longer because the way this site is set up makes it really difficult.
