Brownwood

The closer we got to Brownwood, the more bluebonnets we saw, Robin insisted we stop and take a picture, I needed a break from driving, so we stopped.

They even had some in their front yard.
Up close... you can tell I've become accustomed to the city, since the sight of that many bluebonnets fascinated me. Aunt Bethany's new house, away from the city! Mom, Aunt Virgie, and Aunt Bethany.. somehow a picture got brought out after some story telling.
Aunt Bethany insisted on no gifts, no one listened. Jack, Aunt Bethany, and Great Aunt Dottie paused to take a picture.

The Wedding

It was held at a bed and breakfast in Brownwood.

Here comes the bride! Aunt Virgie even wore a dress for the occasion, me and her share a dislike for dresses.
The Bletsch sisters and Jack

Robin, mom, Great Aunt Dottie, Aunt Bethany, me, Aunt Virgie

The newly weds!

The huge pit used to cook all the bbq

There were several creatures, these birds kept making noise throughout the ceremony and I couldn't figure out, from where I was at, what was making it.

The Pond with all the fishies!
And then there was the llama! As we arrived, they were chasing this guy down since he had escaped, literally the first thing I saw after driving through nothing was a llama running across the road. I called him Dolly, Dolly the llama, get it, yea, I like to pretend I'm clever sometimes.

Me and Robin with our long lost cousins (haha), Patti and Susan, and Aunt Dottie and Mom.

I had fun! It was nice to meet some of the family on the Bletsch side!

summer come quicker...

Obviously I haven't had much time to keep up with my blog, school is vicious at the moment. While its vicious some of it is starting to get interesting and the rest just annoying. In my design class, we're starting to program boards and see what all the coding does. The other two classes are the busy work I don't enjoy. But the frustration paid off in my math class, I made a 85 on my last test, over material I was stressed out about for weeks.

This weekend is Aunt Bethany's wedding in Brownwood, so now I must do some work before leaving for the weekend.

As for the Astros, they just broke the .500 mark, they are now 8-6, thanks to the help of the "bench players." This season is going to be a good season for Luke Scott and Jason Lane, as long as they continue to do what they're doing now. The new guy, Carlos Lee, has definately proved himself, 3 home runs in 1 game, including a grand slam. Now if Lance Berkman can get going, then the only problem the Astros are going to have is pitching, which they already took a step in the right direction by removing Brad Lidge from the closer position.

Quote of the Day:
Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome.

easter weekend...

These little critters are worth a 4 hour drive back home... along with being able to see everyone of course.. I always enjoy a good crawfish boil, it's always fun gathering around and seeing everyone while eating some great food!

here's to being optimistic...

Astros lost.. not only lost their opening day game, they lost to the PIRATES. This is the team that in the same homestand both Andy Pettitte and Roy Oswalt scored a home run. The same team that in one night at least half the lineup had gotten at least 1 RBI (runner batted in... in other terms, a point). The team that finished next to last in the NL Central. I have a name for my problem and it's Brad Lidge, he gave up a home run that ended the little lead that the offense could get. The minute I start to think 'wow he's actually doing good' he gives up the home run in the 9th inning. It went into 10 innings and Chad Qualls gave up a 2 run home run to Jason Bay. It wouldn't be as bad as a loss if Brad Lidge wasn't the one to screw it up. I believe they said his ERA (Earned Run Average) went up from 2005 from 2.5 to 5.0 or somewhere around there. A designated Closer shouldn't have a high ERA, they come into the game for the final innings to throw a few pitches to keep the lead, something he used to be able to do.

Look how his average innings pitched (IP) was in the 90s in 2004 and he only gave up 57 hits, but in the next 2 years his innings decrease and the number of hits and runs (R) increase, and look at the increase for runs in 2006. His strike out count decreased (SO), and last year he gave up way too many walks (BB) and just look at that ERA.

But in good news Biggio got a hit, so now he's at 2,931 career hits. Pretty good for a guy who's on his 20th season in baseball. Now they have a counter at Minute Maid Park to track his hits, I guess my homemade one from last season wasn't good enough.. haha..

It's that time of the year...

Well, it's that time of the year! The time of the year when there is stuff on television I want to watch and the time of the year when I don't have time to watch it! Yep, thats right, baseball season has started!!! Astros baseball starts tomorrow! Astros VS Pirates 6pm, FSN.

70 more hits until Biggio reaches 3000! I'm estimating about 110 hits this season, his hits for each season has gradually declined over the past few years, with good reason, the guy has been playing for the astros since I've been alive (signed in June 87). So I predict mid to end of July for him to hit the 3000 mark.
